It was a great experience to take part in this amazing project being developed by Ecohouse Developments.
An amazing detached house in Delgany, co Wicklow.
Our part in this project consisted from two tasks – ground works for all the services – sewage, surface water, mains water & ESB and the KORE Passive Foundation System.
The sewage system in the area is pressurized. Architect advised to use a local sewage pump station at the lowest point of the property and pump the foul sewage 50m higher to connect in the non-pressurized network before the pressure chamber.
And to install a KORE Passive Foundation system following the Tanner structural design’s specifications. KORE system is approved to deliver the lowest U-values while eliminating the critical wall-to-floor cold bridge. Essentially, the Passive Foundation wraps the foundation in a layer of expanded polystyrene (EPS300) to insulate from the ground up…
Site was quite challenging – the rock breakers were there for few month to chipping the hill away. When it came to pouring the concrete, big up for skilful Roadstone truck drivers who managed to get concrete trucks up the very steep hill lane..
Another passive foundation system installed!
