For most homeowners, top of the hit list is to increase their living area. They want flexible, open-plan, multi-functional spaces and future-proofing for their homes…
Rear house extension in Celbridge, Co Kildare.
We worked within the budget to thoroughly analyse needs and the potential opportunities of the house and the proposed extension to develop a cost-effective solution that best meets the family’s needs.
Maximising light was one of the priorities for this project. We came up with a solution – 2.5m high by 5.0 meter wide sliding door, 2.0m high by 3.0m wide fixed pane side window, two roof windows and a small triangular fixed pane feature over the sliding door. All triple glazed to max out possible U values. A passive fully insulated floated foundation system and underfloor heating as a heat source for the new extension.
Structure combines steel RSJ beams with SIP panels and timber frame. Fully insulated to avoid any possible cold bridging and achieve the best energy performance. One half of the roof is slanted to create a vaulted ceiling to break apart traditional horizontal lines.
All new flooring running from the rear extension through the front door of the house.
Kitchen “refaced” with new cabinet doors and extra unit built around “American” fridge.
All painted, finished – a full turnkey project!
And we got everything done in time as it was planned!
